IFEX 2026 – Industry Insights Day 1 Market Observations
The opening day of IFEX 2026 at ICE BSD City showed lower international buyer attendance than expected.
Multiple exhibitors reported that buyers from Europe and the Middle East were unable to attend due to ongoing geopolitical disruptions affecting international flight routes between Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Early estimates from exhibitors suggest that approximately 50–60% of expected international buyers may not have been able to travel to Jakarta for the show.
Despite the slower opening day, Indonesian manufacturers remain optimistic that the remaining exhibition days will see increased activity from regional buyers and sourcing agents.

Day 2 Market Observations
The second day of IFEX 2026 at ICE BSD City showed a clear improvement in visitor traffic compared to the opening day. Exhibitors reported increased booth activity and stronger engagement with buyers, creating a more active atmosphere across the exhibition halls.
Despite the improved attendance, buyer representation from Europe and the Middle East remained very limited. Many suppliers indicated that international participation from these regions was significantly lower than in previous editions of the show.
Overall, Day 2 reflected stronger exhibition momentum, although international buyer presence has not yet reached expected levels.
Day 3 of IFEX 2026 showed further improvement in visitor activity compared to the opening days of the exhibition.
Exhibitors reported steady booth traffic, although much of the visible activity appeared to come from domestic buyers and regional project-based purchasers, particularly within the hospitality sector.
Several suppliers indicated that project inquiries related to hotels, resorts, and commercial interiors were more noticeable during the third day of the show.
At the same time, the absence of buyers from Europe and the Middle East remained clearly visible across the exhibition halls. Many exhibitors continued to note that international participation from these regions was significantly lower than in previous editions of IFEX.

Day 4 and summary
The final day of IFEX 2026 concluded with exhibitors generally expressing satisfaction with the level of interest and business discussions generated during the exhibition.
While international visitor attendance appeared lower than expected earlier in the week, many suppliers reported productive meetings and a number of preliminary agreements and follow-up discussions with potential buyers.
A frequently mentioned positive aspect of this year’s event was the venue at ICE BSD City.
Exhibitors noted that the layout allowed visitors to navigate the halls more easily, and many felt that the exhibition space provided more balanced visibility across booths compared to previous editions of the show.
Overall, despite some challenges related to international travel disruptions, IFEX 2026 was widely viewed by exhibitors as a constructive and worthwhile event, with solid engagement from buyers and encouraging opportunities for future business.
